Product Description
Wirewound fusible resistors are integrated power components combining the functions of a fixed resistor and a safety fuse. Constructed by winding precision resistive alloy wire (e.g., nichrome) around a highgrade ceramic core, they are coated with flameretardant, noncombustible silicone cement or epoxy for electrical insulation and thermal protection. Under normal operation, they act as standard power resistors; in overload or shortcircuit conditions, they melt the resistive wire within a specified time to open the circuit and protect downstream components. Ideal for costeffective overcurrent and inrush current protection in AC/DC circuits.
